Historic England Journey This vacation will take you on a history tour of England. You can marvel at ancient Stonehenge, picture yourself back in Roman times in the Roman Baths of Bath. Journey through the beautiful Cotswold's and visit the home of William Shakespeare. Then off to Oxford, home to England`s oldest University. Enjoy the afternoonOvernight: SalisburyDay 3: Salisbury to Bath Today your journey will start with Stonehenge. Dating back to about 3000BC this prehistoric monument is an amazing site. Although the exact reason for its creation is not known, popular belief is that it was built to help with the seasons. Then head towards Bath where you should not miss the Roman Baths or Bath Abbey. The Architecture of these sights is magnificent and not to be missedOvernight: BathDay 4: Bath to Stratford Today you travel through the Cotswolds as you venture to Stratford upon Avon one of the most famous towns in England. The Cotswolds are a prominent range of Limestone hills running over 50 miles. Stop and take in the country life in any one of the towns or villages along the way.Overnight: StratfordDay 5: Stratford to Oxford Use today to fulfil your desire for history. Stratford is the birthplace os William Shakespeare and this town has his name on everything. Whilst here you can visit where Shakespeare was born, his wife`s, Anne Hathaways Cottage and many other historic sites. In the late afternoon head on towards Oxford. Upon arrival in Oxford you will drop off your car rental.Overnight:OxfordDay 6: Oxford Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. Nowadays, the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town. Still with its ancient University, but home also to a growing hi-tech community.Overnight:OxfordDay 7: Oxford to London Today you will take the train to London. This bustling captial is full of history and culture. Spend the afternoon seeing the sights or shopping or perhaps take in a west end show.Overnight: LondonDay 9: London Spend the day seeing the sights of London. Some of the must sees include St Pauls Catherdral, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace. Remember to take some relaxation time and enjoy afternoon tea or find a traditional pub and relax with an English favorite of Fish and Chips.Overnight: LondonDay 9: Departure Head to London airport for your international flight back to the United States.
