Liverpool's precensce in the music of the Beatles cannot be ignored, the famous bands many songs and concert venues can still be heard and seen in this city (the 2008 European Capital of Culture). A must see is the Beatles Story, a commemoration of the Beatles journey to stardom and highlights each musician and their history with the band. After your Beatles Tour, explore the remaining highlights of the Albert Docks, which give you a taste of Liverpool's rich historic heritage and show you a vision of it's present and future with exhibits at the Tate Liverpool and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.Overnight: LiverpoolDay 3: Lake District National Park Your journey to England's Lake District National Park will center around it's biggest and most attractive lake, Lake Windermere. The village of Windermere is a mile inland uphill from the lake, spend your first day in this quaint little town, walk down to the lake or have a picnic at Fell Foot Park.Overnight: WindermereDay 4: Windermere There are a number of museums and visitor attractions that tell the story of the area's heritage, such as the Aquariam of the Lakes at Lakeside, which reveals the natural history of the region or travel to Bowness-on-Windermere and step into the world of Miss Potter and experience all 23 of her magical tales, brought to life using sights, sounds and even smells. A third town is Ambleside, it's a half-mile north from the lake and is a bustling town full of tea shops and restaurants to relax late in the afternoon.Overnight: WindermereDay 5: Hadrian's Wall to Newcastle On your journey to Newcastle, pass through Carlisle and visit it's compact historic centre which includes; a castle, museum, cathedral, and semi-intact city walls. Continue on your way to Newcastle to visit Northern England's UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hadrian's Wall. Hadrian's Wall is a stone and turf fortification built by the Roman Empire across the width of Great Britain to prevent military raids by the tribes of Scotland to the north, to improve economic stability and provide peaceful conditions in the Roman province of Britannia to the south, and to physically mark the frontier of the Empire. Hadrian's Wall is the best known because it remains the most physically preserved and evident today. A significant portion of the wall still exists, particularly the mid-section, and for much of its length the wall can be followed on foot.Overnight: NewcastleDay 6: Journey to York Between Newcastle and York lies the town of Durham, which stands proudly above the River Wear and offers one of the Cathedrals and Castles most rich in history in Northern England and justifies a short visit on your journey south to York. Further south lies Hartlepool, famous for it's Maritime Experience which enriches you to the Maritime history of the region, a region made famous by an English sailor, Captain James Cook.Overnight: YorkDay 7: York A full day exploration of this quaint English town with plenty of historical character ensues. Visit the Jorvik Viking Center, which shows what life was like in York 1,000 years ago; the Castle Museum, depicting life in the Victorian era or climb Clifford's Tower, which is one of the most historical sites of English Jewry.Overnight: YorkDay 8: Manchester Upon arrival in Manchester, settle in and enjoy the wealth of world-class entertainment and culture, pay a visit to the Imperial War Museum North, Ordsall Hall or the Lowry, or take advantage of Manchester's retail paradise. With designer stores, vintage boutiques and the world-famous Selfridges and Harvey Nichols department stores, this city is a shopaholic's dream!Overnight: ManchesterDay 9: Departure After returning your car rental at the airport, you will depart on your international flight back to the United States.

Space is limited and your desired travel dates may not be available if you wait, so book early to avoid disappointment. We highly recommend 2nd and 3rd choices for travel dates.Car rental is based on a strict 24 hour consecutive periods. The lead person named on the reservation must be the main driver, present at time of rental and payer of any additional charges with a minimum age of 25 years except for Luxury and Prestige vehicle groups which the minimum age is strictly 30 years old. A major credit card in the main driver's name is required for pickup of the vehicle as a car return guarantee. An authorization is obtained on your credit card based on the estimated rental charges; there must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges. Additional driver's fee is charged locally at time of car pickup. All drivers must present a valid USA driver's license held for a minimum of one year at the time of rental. Theft protection is included and additional insurance, such as Collision Damage Waiver and Personal Accident Insurance, is available at time of car pickup and is paid locally. Government tax (VAT) at the rate of 17.5% is included. A Vehicle Licensee Fee (VLF) apply to all rentals and a Location Service Charge will apply to all rentals with pick-up in airport/railway station or some downtown locations which are payable locally upon pick-up. Rentals will be charged an administration fee in case of traffic fines. Rates do not include fuel. All Hertz vehicles are rented with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with full tank of fuel or a local refueling charge will apply. Child seats are available on request from all locations. Luggage racks are currently not offered. Additional charges for one way rentals are based on location restrictions and the vehicle type being rented. Vehicles rented from the United Kingdom may be driven to/from the Isle of Wight, the Orkney Isles and from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland with an extra charge for Premium, Luxury, Special and Automatic Van car groups to be paid locally. Driving to/from the Isle of Man, Guernsey or Jersey is prohibited. For round trip rentals from mainland UK to Continental Europe or Ireland, an additional surcharge will apply which includes RAC Continental Breakdown Coverage to be paid locally. Vehicles can only be driven into E.U. countries: Austria, France, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, Finland, Italy, United Kingdom and Portugal as well as Norway and Switzerland. Full payment due within 1 day of booking by 2pm.Passport Requirements: It is the sole responsibility of each passenger to obtain the necessary documents for travel, not excluding passports and visas. A valid passport is normally the only requirement for U.S. citizens. Visa requirements do change without notice and vary by nationality. Please check with the consulate office of the destination country as to visa requirements.A Saturday night stay is required.Nonrefundable and nonchangeable once paid in full.Restrictions Prices are per person based on double occupancy and a 21-day advance purchase. Purchases within 21 days will incur additional fees. Air carrier used in the package is based on gateway and availability at time of booking and multiple flights connections may be necessary. Flight departure times may be at any time on your requested departure day. Surcharges up to $50 per person each way may apply for travel Thursday through Monday depending on travel dates.
