LOUISE BRUNN-MAYWALD, CTC,
Louise is the founder of Batavia Custom Travel, Inc. She began her travel career in 1979 at Wilson World Travel in St Charles and in 1985, after an 'entrepreneurial seizure', she decided to open her own travel business. She found a lovely office for rent in the beautiful Stone Manor building in Batavia, hung out her shingle and the rest, as they say, is history. Then came a few changes. In 1997 she moved BCT out of Stone Manor after purchasing the beautiful home we are now located in at 232 South Batavia Avenue. And when a great business opportunity came along - a merger with Gateway Travel - Louise snatched it up.
When asked what her favorite trips over the years have been, well, the list is long but here are some that stand out in her mind; white water rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon (a dream come true), an African safari in Kenya (an unbelieveable experience!), spending a relaxed week on a 50 foot sailboat in the British Virgin Islands with special friends (she was the chef because she doesn't know a spinmaker from a jib!), and mountain climbing in the Canadian Rockies.
Louise has many interests outside the office, including spending time with her nephews Joseph and Sam, serving on the Board of Directors for the Elderday Center in Geneva, and is an active member of Christ Community Church in St Charles.

CINDY RAPLEY, CTA
Cindy joined the BCT staff in November 1991 fresh out of travel school and has never looked back. Little did she know what she was getting herself into! Over the years, she became an invaluable part of the agency's success and today she has assumed the role of owner/president of Batavia Custom Travel. It is a large undertaking for this mom of two young girls, but she is ready for the challenge. Cindy's specialty is working with corporate travelers (making their life on the road as easy as possible), but she also finds great enjoyment in finding that special vacation to help her clients relax and spend some memorable time with their families.
When she does find a few spare moments away from the office, Cindy enjoys spending some quality time with her daughters and visiting her family out in Colorado.

You will notice all the ladies have either the CTC or CTA designation after their names. We want you to know what this means for you, our valued clients.

These designations are earned through The Institute of Certified Travel Agents, a non-for-profit educational organization founded in 1964.
Based in Wellesley, MA, the Institute develops quality education and certification programs to enhance the level of professionalism in the travel industry. Both designations represent a rigorous program of study, testing and ongoing education.
